The Green Lady, or "Green", is a Leviathan and recurring character in Season 2. For unknown reasons, she has a strong dislike for LMG.
Nature[]
Physical Appearance[]
Her physical form is unknown, though she claims to carry a knife.
History[]
In Season 2, Green contacts Dan through his master tape, planning to use him to escape The City, and possibly sabotage LMG along the way. Leviathans aim to get through to Earth in order to to establish power and influence, and her proactivity may indicate she intends to do this before the others challenge her for it. Dromen stops her before she is able to, not wanting her in the "real world".
Abilities[]
Associations[]
Daniel Powell[]
Green uses Dan throughout season 2 for her own benefit, but does, in her own way, possibly have some level of concern for him. Leviathans don't think the way humans do, though she claims to care about him. Regardless of this, she connects quickly with him through the master tape in his body, guiding and and manipulating him, trying to get out of the city, and attempting to convince him to sabotage the expedition. Dan quickly grows frustrated with her vagueness, and is unwilling to cooperate with her plans to lead Clara and Lou to their deaths. She reconsiders this when Clara and Lou express their dislike of LMG. Dan quickly resolves not to trust her, but continues taking advice, and she even assists accessing some of his powers. When she thinks she has achieved freedom, she thanks him for it.

Theories and Speculation[]
Nature: Green has ties to the natural world, her final scripted appearance written to be accompanied by the sounds of nature. Whether she is nature, plants, or a specific place (ie. The Wall Garden/Chain Forest), is less clear. The only other time nature sounds are noted is with the vines at Vining Towers, when she has no issues breaking into Dan's broadcast, likely because she is already there. At this point, she also advises Dan that Clara and Lou must "go into green", "Green" being the name she introduced herself with. Both vines and forest lead them to the market, and by extension The Contest, which would theoretically the most straightforward way to open a path out of The City. The trees being chained and her low power may be related. The forest was described by TOC Tim as dangerous, though Clara and Lou have no issues once they are in it. If they were wanted there, it would explain this variation in behaviour.
Vining Towers: Vining Towers was LMG's attempt to emulate/recreate Visser, the building even fed with "human capital" before being taken into The City. While Visser housed The Choir, it's unclear which entity was living in VIning Towers. Green has problems with LMG for unknown reasons, though the presence of vines and the name itself, Vining Towers, might suggest some connection. If some deal with Green went awry, it could explain her bitterness. Prior exposure to Earth could also explain her determination to return to it, and how she interacts more easily with humans than other leviathans.
