The Sound/Light/Child is a small leviathan featured in Season 2.
About[]
A young Leviathan born from the curiosity of The Curator. While modifying Daniel Powell, Rat uses his body to incubate it. Likely ties to radios, audio, recording. It is reclaimed after roughly 2 weeks of incubating in Dan's body.

Devotees[]
Provided Dan counts as an unknowing "devotee", or benefits from it's power, granted powers may include the following:
- Walkie Talkie: With fluid offerings, Dan is able to connect to short range communication devices, such as walkie talkies, cutting through interference that a standard device would not. It is a taxing process.
- Insight: Dan seems to take in, process, and recall information from tapes played in his body with greater accuracy and ease than would otherwise be expected.
- Broadcasting: While asleep, Dan is able to broadcast to radios and recorders, even when they are switched off. He can listen and speak through radios, but only listen on a recorder. He can also turn on recorders remotely. With a strong enough emotional connection, Dan can also enter people's mindscapes if he is thinking them when he falls asleep, as demonstrated in The Contest. While broadcasting, he can hear everything around him, and move outward to explore the immediate surrounding area, but cannot see anything. While broadcasting, the master tape records what Dan is hearing, rather than his physical surroundings. He may also be able to record what he hears to tapes, as he is able to acquire a tape recording of Xkryxx's song somehow. Broadcasting is, however, quite exhausting to do.
- Receiving Calls: Dan is given a piece that rings when the mother radio receives a call, and allows him to connect with it as part of the design, but later this is directed to Dan's own body, allowing him to to receive calls directly to his body without it.
Associations[]
The Curator[]
The Curator enjoys putting objects in people to see what will happen, so this particular experiment is of little surprise. The Curator lends Rat the pieces he needs in exchange for the incubation of this new leviathan, which it talks about as though it will be useful in coming days and the expansion into Earth.
Rat[]
In exchange for more materials for Dan's new body, Rat agrees to have it incubated in the device. Rat often cryptically refers to Dan as a "nest" or "pregnant woman" and insistent he is careful as not to cause any damage or disruption to it.
Daniel Powell[]
Dan is unknowingly (and unconsentingly) used as an incubator for the young entity, and is understandably horrified by this revelation, and furious at Rat for his hand in it. Dan is not able to completely understand the Sound/Light/Child's nature. It may also be the source of his powers, though as he retains them after it is removed, he would be connected to is as Samuel is to Visser, or retain a piece of it, as Melody does of Visser.

- The song heard in the theramin room in response to Dan's new body likely belongs not to Dan, but to this leviathan, as every leviathan has their own song.
