Liam Davenport is a major character in Season 1, and a reoccurring one in Season 2. He is Dan's boss, a middle manager at LMG and responsible for the company's tape collection, and many of the other weird projects and dealings.
Personality[]
Davenport has an upbeat, dismissive, and persistent demeanor, holding a very thin façade of professional kindness. He cares little for the wellbeing of other people. He seems to enjoy teasing other people. He is somewhat squeamish.
Appearance[]
Nothing is known of his appearance, though he is likely in at least his 50s, probably 60s. He is missing a finger as of Season 2, as it has been sewn to Suit's hand.
History[]
Season 1[]
Davenport serves as a major antagonist. He introduces Dan to the Archive and the Warehouse that it is contained in. He coaxes Dan into staying whenever he wants to leave.
Season 2[]
He is the only major antagonist to meet a satisfying onscreen death, at the hand of Caroline Levi.
Skills and Abilities[]
- Persuasive: Is able to talk Dan down into staying and archiving when he is dead set on leaving.
Relationships[]
Daniel Powell[]
His employee. While Davenport puts on a friendly façade, he has little to no concern for Dan beyond his immediate usefulness. He keeps Dan in the dark constantly, is frequently rude or dismissive, and is the person ultimately responsible for Dan's modification. He lies to Dan to motivate him, stating they would take the recorder out of Dan when his work was done, and get him back home. Despite his awful treatment, Dan is still upset about Davenport's death, though this is a reflection of Dan's compassionate nature, rather than any actual care for his boss.
Melody Pendras[]
Melody has a loathing for Davenport. Davenport used Melody previously, tricking her into the Visser ritual by convincing her it was a research project, keeping her in the dark.
Cynthia Closer[]
Coworkers, Davenport is perhaps the only person on a level playing field with Cynthia's awfulness, his signature belittling and friendly condescension apparently getting to her more than her foul mouth does to him. She is wisely suspicious of his motives, and not especially impressed with his Vining Towers Project.
Mr. Brown[]
They are coworkers, and apparently on better terms than Davenport and Cynthia, though Brown is not too impressed with Davenport.
Suit[]
Davenport uses Suit to communicate with the employees in The City. He is the person responsible for turning Caroline over to Rat in the first place, and has no care for her wellbeing or even as a person, comparing her post-ritual to a broken printer, calling her "a bodybag".
