Summary[]
Nicholas and Christine Arrive in Aleister's office within the Cult Compound and force him to swallow the "fish" that served as the heart of the house, and in doing so he disintegrates and dies. Dromen, having been alerted to strange going-ons in Aleister's office, sets off the Cult's compound's alarms alerting everyone. Nicholas calls Static Man for help, and he takes care of the Cult security while the siblings make a run for the artefact vault. Dromen confronts them, but after a short conversation, and confirming Dan is helping them, decides to let them go, giving them directions to the vault, which contains the sheet music needed. The two perform the ritual and a song is played.
Nicholas is transported into his Father's office and meets his father, but Christine is not with him. Michael Waters states Christine is dead, and reveals the true intentions of the ritual; to gain immortality by eating Nicholas' heart, and attain possession of his son's body.
Christine (not dead) is transported to a beach, where she meets Lou, who she does not remember. Lou explains that after receiving a glyph, the crew had tried to bring her back, and gives her a taser-like device, the going-away gift she couldn't bring back last time. Before she starts to fade away, Lou confesses that he loves her. She appears in the office and stuns her bastard of a father. Nicholas apologizes before smashing his father's head in with his own obsidian bust.
The siblings have a heart-to-heart before Dan (having regained a completely human appearance) appears. He briefly explains the situation, and says that there should be enough power in him to get them all to New York. Chris asks instead to rejoin Lou and his crew, much to Nicholas' dismay, and although offered, he does not join her. Christine is sent on her way, and Nicholas and Dan are left alone.
After a brief confrontation, Nicholas affirms continuing to practice magic, to help Static Man get a new body, and, after Dan promises to leave him alone, agrees to take him back to New York.
