Nicholas and Christine dive into their past and meet an old friend
Events of Note[]
- We hear Nicholas and Chris' first visit to the Waters House and initial exposure to the weird.
- At Dan's request, the siblings contact Melody again, who tells them where to find the final ritual component.
- Payphone's bargain with Nicholas is fulfilled, and he slips into a liminal state. In this he meets a man who looks and sounds like an older version of himself, the cello player Thomas, and finally Static Man.
- Nicholas promises to help Static Man get his body back, and Static Man sends him on his way.
- On the way to the library, Nicholas and Chris are captured by Aleister and find themselves somewhere else.
Summary[]
- Nicholas and Chris play the re-formed tape. It contains a recording of their first visit to the The Waters House, in which they listen to an old tape Michael had left for Nicholas. A song is played to convince them of the existance of the strange, and Christine experiences a vision of boats on the water.
- The recording ends, and a message from Dan plays, telling them to find Melody again, as she will help them locate the final ritual component,
- Nicholas and Chris call Static Man to see if he can help them locate her. He calls a very displeased Alexa, who, on hearing Dan's name mentioned, agreed to tell Melody.
- Melody meets with the siblings again, and leads them blindfolded to an archive, where she plays them a tape of her meeting with Violet Vos, who tells her the location of The Cult's compound (where
- The tape ends. Payphone's bargain kicks in and Nicholas' blindfold begins to disintegrate. Unprepared to see the surrounding environment, he slips into a liminal state. Melody advises him to keep walking.
- Nicholas follows the sound of a radio playing Wing Beats, and encounters a man who looks and sounds like an older version of himself, who sends him on his way.
- Nicholas encounters a fading man with a cello, who cannot remember who his is or who he's waiting for. He plays a song for Nicholas.
- Nicholas finds himself talking with Static Man, interrupting his air drumming. The two talk feelings, and Nicholas remarks that, since killing Payphone didn't work, they'll just have to become strong enough to get Static Man a body some other way.
- Static Man sends Nicholas back to Chris and Melody. Melody asks him to turn off the recorder.
- Nicholas and Christine head for the library. Opening the door, they hear a high-pitch whine, and are transported.
- Aleister's voice comes over the two-way radio to inform them it is there.
