Nicholas and Christine make a friend.
Events of Note[]
- At some point before the episode's start, Nicholas and Chris rent a motel room and perform a minor ritual so they can't be tracked. This involves Nicholas shaving his moustache off and Christine dying her hair red.
- The two visit a corner store to pick up some Listerine.
- Christine visits the payphone, answering a questionnaire in payment for the previous "moving services", and agreeing to a small bargain in exchange for a way to protect them from The Cult. The agreement is: "sometime in the next few days, by our world's reckoning, someone you love will be ripped from your life" (does not involve Nicholas).
- She reluctantly agrees and the Payphone gives her the ritual, and advises she bring Popeye's fried chicken.
- We hear a short, fragmented, automated message regarding Dan and Mark's disappearances.
- Nicholas and Chris conduct the short ritual and summon Static Man. Chris hits it off with him immediately, and Nicholas is friendly but uncertain. Static Man agrees to get Aleister and The Cult to stop going after them.
- Dan listens in on Chris and Nicholas discussing their lives before this, and lack of people to miss them.
- Christine coughs up a tape containing a ritualist's holiday catalogue of items. Chris and Nicholas agree to visit the woman who runs the business, Ms. Roland.
- Chris and Nicholas get a call. During a Cult meeting, Static Man imitates Dan's voice to Dromen, kills the other attendees, and threatens to decimate The Cult unless Dromen calls off Aleister. When this doesn't work, Static Man throws more accusations in Dan's voice, to which Dromen quickly agrees to call him off.
- Static Man travels back through the phoneline to confirm a job well done, and mentions the next time they have a phone, his number will be preprogrammed in.

Trivia[]
- The Solstice Catalogue Tape sent contains a number of references: It mentions Rat, contains versions of The Boatwoman's song and The Curator's song, and mentions Saint Germain, the canary previously on exhibit in The Private Collection of Ms. Cassandra Wall.
- The message notes it has been over 2 years since something occurred. This likely refers to the time since Dan took the initial job at Archive 81, and was seen last, though may also be since he was last heard from.
