Caroline picks them both up and leaps out the window, breaking her legs in the process
Rat admits to using some parts The Curator wants back in Dan's new body
The three flee, heading towards the radio station in the hopes The Messenger could delay The Curator's approach
The three encounter the screamers. Dan sings to dispel them
The three keep moving. The Curator catches up with them
Dan hears something from Caroline's past
The two keep walking. Caroline asks Dan why he is kind to Rat. Dan feels Rat is confused, and would like to be treated kindly in the same position
The two find Rat
Clara and Lou show up
The Group meets The Representative of The Curator, and introduce themselves.
The Representative vomits out a message in the form of a tape, which Dan very reluctantly plays
The Curator claims a Leviathan, The Sound/Light/Child Rat had been incubating in Dan's new body.
The Representative requests a token/apology for not following The Contest rules. Lou offers to travel the world in a ship finding things for The Curator
The Representative produces another tape, which Dan plays. He finds himself on a ship, talking to Lou. They say a brief goodbye.
Dan, Caroline, Rat and Clara decide to look for Melody. Clara suggests finding The Boatwoman to take them there and everyone agrees
Caroline trades her remaining fingers in exchange for passage
