Melody finally confronts Samuel. A challenge is issued. And someone pays a visit to the Archives.
Summary[]
Dan calls Tanya and tells her that he is “...almost done with the story. Almost finished.” He expects to change from who he was before after he leaves this place, and wants to take some time off the grid to work on his novel. After the call, Dan hears the Visser song playing. Following the song leads him to a secret door behind which he finds a tape. He plays it.
- Tape: Melody is speaking to Samuel on September 9th at 10:05 am on the sixteenth floor of Visser. She tries to ask him about Jesse but he asks her to be patient. She tells him that she's tried to find him for months, and he tells her that Visser caused her to avoid him. He tells her that he only met with her once he felt like she had experienced enough of the story, and has come close to the end. He explains some Dutch company, a bunch of old and rich people, built Visser as an experiment, as something they believed would feed and satiate some entity. Eventually the entity was longer satisfied wearing Visser as its skin. When Melody asks what the entity was, Samuel uses his powers to hurt her, because it is not yet time for her to know all the answers. Samuel reveals that he himself was simply a curious academic who once heard the Visser song in a library that called him to this building. He finally tells her that he is going to make a sacrifice to Visser, and that Melody will be a witness for it. He uses his powers to bind her to her chair so she can’t get up and tells her the effects will wear off in three hours, at which point she should meet him in the boiler room. He leaves a tape for her to listen to.
After listening to this tape. Dan grabs his stuff, coaxes Ratty to climb on his hand, and starts to leave. When the door opens, Samuel is there.
